EXTREME SPORTS TRAVEL INSURANCE

Our Sports Travel Insurance policy provides up to £5,600 worth of equipment cover. This add-on not only protects your own equipment, but also any equipment you hire during your trip. It also covers your equipment in transit to and from your destination.

Standard travel insurance policies do not always cover extreme sports. Our Sports Travel Insurance is specifically designed to cover over 500 high risk activities such as bungee jumping, skateboarding, ski-acrobatics and many more.

Yes, our Extreme Sports Travel Insurance can generally be taken out even if you have a medical condition. We can almost always offer cover at no extra cost, but occasionally our underwriters may apply special terms if you subsequently needed to make a claim relating to your condition.

Our policies will cover anyone up to the age of 74 at the time of purchase. An applicant aged 75 or over cannot be covered.

Yes, equipment rental for the sports you add to your policy will be covered under sports equipment for damage and theft.  

You can select either a single trip or annual policy, depending on your trip. You can also choose a bolt-on Activity Top-up cover that provides one-off cover for a specific activity. You can opt for this if you have a travel insurance policy that doesn’t provide specialist cover for a one-off activity you want to do, provided the activity is listed.  

With an extreme sports travel policy you will have emergency medical expenses, repatriation, search and rescue cover as well as catastrophe cover. 

Once you’ve booked your trip it’s a good idea to get travel insurance to ensure you’re covered for cancellation. 

If you have an annual policy, you are unlikely to need an extended policy unless you have travelled closed to the expiry date.  

For shorter term policies you can simply call us to extend an existing policy or purchase additional days online. 

Yes, this is in included with search and rescue cover provided you have taken reasonable precautions, are within 150km from the nearest habitation and followed local advice. 

Yes, you can select either a bronze, silver or gold level of cover depending on the cover limit you need based on the value of your equipment for example.  

Yes, but it depends on the sport you select. We can cover for a range of hiking, mountaineering and scrambling up to 7000metres.  

You are insured for medical expenses abroad, if you sustain an injury from the sport(s) you have selected when you purchase your cover. 

Each sport will be graded based on the risk level and this will affect the cost of your policy.  

You can opt from 3 levels of cover bronze, silver or gold. This will include the value limits you want to select for the travel insurance benefits, rather than sports specifically.
