What does bikepacking travel insurance cover?
Our bikepacking travel insurance is built for riders heading off the beaten track.
It combines sports-specific bike cover with crucial travel cover to provide a complete policy for your activity holiday.
A highlight for bike packers is the extensive sports equipment cover than can be added. Up to £5600 is available that can cover touring bikes and cycling equipment.
This bike packing travel policy can also protect you for emergency medical treatment and repatriation, trip cancellation or curtailment, travel disruption, personal liability and other unexpected travel costs.
Alternatively, if you need to add extra bike packing insurance, you can opt for our travel bolt‑on for the days you spend on your bike.
Our policies provide three different types of cover: Sports travel insurance, Sports accident, and Activity Top-Up. Please ensure you select the most suitable cover for your activity, when you get a quote and always review your policy documents.
Sports equipment is excluded under our bolt‑on cover.

How much does bikepacking insurance cost?
The price of your bikepacking insurance will depend on the level of sports cover you select, with Bronze, Silver and Gold offering different limits and benefits for your trip.
Your premium will also reflect your individual travel plans, such as your age, destination and the length of time you’ll be away.
The nature of your bikepacking trip can make a difference too. Factors may include the type of terrain and riding involved, alongside the amount of protection you choose for your bike, luggage, equipment and cycling kit.
