What could be more thrilling? From the build-up before you board the plane to the moment you exit it and then literally freefall through the air? If you love the thrill of skydiving, then here we share what we consider are some the best skydiving destinations in the World.
About Us
Of course, when taking part in any activity, having the most appropriate insurance in place is important. Our Skydiving Insurance will keep you safely covered in any part of the World. These risks include the potentially expensive medical and repatriation costs if you suffer an accident; the losses from any trip cancellation; and the theft, loss, or damage to your skydiving gear.
Destinations
For a sport that is fast gaining ever-increasing popularity, it’s not difficult to find suggestions for some of the best skydiving destinations in the World. Here are just six …
Fox Glacier, New Zealand
If you’re happy to travel to quite literally the other side of the World, you’ll find that skydiving above New Zealand’s Fox Glacier tops the list as a favourite for many skydivers.
The best time to visit is from December to February, and most operators will give you the choice of diving anywhere between 9,000 and 16,500 feet – that’s a breath taking 65 seconds in freefall.
Mount Everest, Nepal
If you thought 16,500 feet was high, how about jumping from the roof of the World in the Himalayas of Nepal?
From the Everest Skydive, you’ll be launching yourself from a height of 23,000 feet above sea level. When you land, you’ll still be at an altitude of more than 12,000 feet.
Palm Jumeirah, Dubai
Where some drop zones have been attracting skydivers for many years, others are relatively new to the scene.
One newcomer will introduce you to the novel experience of city skydiving – in this instance, above the futuristic development of Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.
Here, you’ll also find the international skydiving championships, sponsored by Skydive Dubai and The Emirates Aerosport Federation (EAF).
The Grand Canyon, USA
It’s back to the stunning wonders of nature for the next selection. And what could be more incredible than the iconic Grand Canyon – you could have the privilege of viewing it in freefall from a height of up to 16,000 feet!
Santa Barbara, California
If your travels are taking you westwards, why not press on just a little further to the laidback vibes of the California coast and Skydive Saint Barbara.
You’ll start your dive at around 18,000 feet with astonishing views of the Santa Barbara coastline – and, if you’re a complete novice to the sport, you can even book a tandem jump with a professional skydiver.
Skydive Spain
You don’t need to travel halfway around the World to find a top-notch destination for skydiving – Skydive Spain is reputed to offer the best of this sport in Europe.
High above the Andalucian cities of Seville and Malaga, you can step out of your aircraft at 15,000 feet (probably the highest altitude offered to skydivers in Europe) and enjoy the indescribable sensation of more than a minute in freefall.
