If you have a travel insurance policy with another provider, such as your bank, but it does not include cover for mountain biking, we can provide a bolt-on style of protection under our “Activity TopUp” policy.
3. Sports Accident Insurance

What is mountain biking travel insurance?
Mountain biking travel insurance is designed to cover the costs of medical assistance should you get injured whilst out on the trails in a foreign country.
If you are travelling abroad you can choose Sports Travel Insurance, where you will also be covered for cancellation, lost baggage, and sports equipment such as your bike, helmet etc. Additional mountain biking equipment cover can be added on, up to a maximum of £5,600.
If you are mountain biking in the UK, our Sports Accident Insurance could provide you with a lump sum payment if you suffered a serious injury whilst riding, in addition to other benefits like income protection and personal liability cover.

Mountain biking could be classed as an extreme sport by some travel insurance providers, and therefore, not always covered within their policy. Make sure you have the correct cover in place for the sports you need. Our cover can include extreme sports insurance so provided you select the right activities, you can ensure you will be covered.

Yes, our Mountain Biking Insurance can generally be taken out even if you have a medical condition. We can almost always offer cover at no extra cost, but occasionally our underwriters may apply special terms if you subsequently needed to make a claim relating to your condition.
