Club Liability

Thank you for showing an interest in our Club Liability Insurance. The aim of this factsheet is to provide you with information on sports club insurance, so that you are able understand how insurance works and what you are being covered for when you take out a club liability insurance policy.

Who's Covered

Clubs should look for an insurance policy that protects it social members, playing members, employees and of course the committee members, generally the Public liability will cover all these points although Employers Liability is required for any non members employed by the club.

What's Covered

Club Liability Insurance covers various exposures and is created around the clubs activities, membership, and where applicable property size and value. The key areas that a club liability insurance policy covers are Public Liability, Employers Liability and Property Insurance. They can be explained as follows:

Public Liability

This will cover up to the amount insured should the club become legally liable to pay for compensation when an individual makes a claim or series of claims against the club or its members in respect of bodily injury, illness, death or property damage.

Employer's liability

Insures your sports club against any claims from staff that you might employ. This is compulsory if employees are based in England, Scotland or Wales (including offshore installations or associated structures). The Employers' Liability Act 1969 requires you to have at least a minimum level of insurance cover. In order for your club to be insured through Dare Direct you must have employer's liability in place if your club has volunteers, helpers or paid members of staff.

We can insure all types of clubs from small 5 member clubs meeting monthly, to large member facilities.
